Right where they matter.
Leave feedback on the exact paragraph, frame, or detail — across documents, videos, and images.
Your files.
One question away.
Ask anything about your work. Sylas finds the files that hold the answer and shows you where it came from.
When the answer is in a spreadsheet, Sylas turns your question into a database query and runs it on your computer. Only the totals go to the AI model. Your customer records, salaries and invoices stay where they are.

Two things are still open. The welcome pack needs Hannah’s pricing sign-off, and the kickoff agenda is still a draft.

Frequently Asked Questions
How is Sylas different from Claude Cowork?
Claude Cowork and ChatGPT Work are simply general-purpose agents that complete tasks. Sylas is a shared and versioned operating system for distributed teams with its own agent harness.
How is Sylas different from Notion or Google Docs?
Notion and Google Docs keep your work in their cloud, in their own formats. Sylas keeps it as regular files and folders on your computer, so it works offline and you can leave anytime by copying the folder.
Every change you publish is versioned across the whole workspace, not one document at a time, so you can see how your company changed and go back to any earlier version. The AI works across all your files, only sees what you’re allowed to see, and every change it makes waits for your review.
Where does my data live?
Your data literally lives as files and folders on your computer. A copy is also stored on our servers to keep your team in sync and manage permissions.
What kind of files can I store with Sylas?
Sylas supports all filetypes including Markdown, plain text, CSV, PDF, images, videos, and binary. Many of our users use Sylas as a replacement for Google Drive.
How do I import my data from Notion?
Connect Notion to Sylas, then ask the assistant to copy the pages you want into your workspace. Pages become Markdown files, databases become CSV files, and images and attachments are saved alongside them.
Everything is copied for you to review before it’s saved to your workspace.
Do I own my data?
Since all your company data is stored as regular files and folders on your computer, it's already yours.
Other data, such as comments and notifications, is stored in our databases, so you can request an export if needed.
How does Sylas protect my data?
We never sell your personal information, and Sylas never trains AI models on your company data. When you ask the AI something, only what that request needs is sent to the model, and it travels encrypted. Access controls and permission checks protect everything else.
You can delete your account anytime, which removes your personal details and the workspaces you own.
