About us
Sylas is an AI-native collaboration platform: one shared, versioned workspace for everything your company knows, built for teams and individuals, technical and non-technical alike.
Why we built Sylas
For more than eight years, we ran a software development company that built products for other businesses and startups.
That work took us inside a lot of companies, and the same problem showed up in almost every one. What the company knew was spread across documents, spreadsheets, meeting notes, chat threads, and a long list of SaaS tools. People spent their time looking for answers instead of acting on them.
AI made that gap impossible to ignore. But it can only help with information it can reach, and most of a company’s knowledge sits where no AI can read it. We built Sylas to bring that knowledge into one place the whole team, and its AI, can work from.

What makes Sylas different
A shared workspace, not a personal assistant
Claude Cowork and ChatGPT Work are general-purpose agents that complete tasks for one person. Sylas is a shared, versioned workspace for a whole team, with its own AI that works on the same files everyone else sees.
Your data stays as ordinary files
Everything is stored as regular files and folders, such as Markdown, CSV, and PDF, that open in other programs too. Leaving Sylas means keeping your folder. There is no export step and no format to convert.
Version history with file-level permissions
Developer version-control tools give you real version history, but they cannot keep individual files private and they are built for software developers. Sylas gives the whole team the same history, with file-level access control, whether they write code or not.
AI changes are reviewed before they land
When the AI edits your files, you see exactly what will change and confirm or reject it. Several related edits are published together as one version, and any earlier version can be restored later.
It keeps working offline
Your workspace lives on your device, so files, history, and everyday tools stay available on a poor connection or on a flight. Browser-only tools stop working when the connection does.
